An archaeological exhibition courtesy of Heritage Malta has been a surprising highlight during the recently completed Malta Fashion Week.

Entitled “Jewellery Through the Times”, the exhibition launched replicas of jewellery items uncovered in numerous Maltese prehistoric sites -the originals being held in the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. However, key to the exhibition was a 3D virtual reconstruction of a 5,000 year old prehistoric woman’s face, based on a scull found at Xagħra Stone Circle in Gozo.

Through their initiative, Heritage Malta aimed to demonstrate lifestyle aspects of people who lived in the Maltese Islands some 5,600 years ago and add a diachronic view to the country’s most important fashion event.
