Budapest calls for a Byzantine Studies expert. The Department of Medieval Studies at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Byzantine Studies. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher and teacher in the field Byzantine Studies, with the ability to teach, and supervise, across a broad chronological range from ca. 500 to 1500. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and further developing the profile of Byzantine Studies at the Department of Medieval Studies and is expected to be an active member of the Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies (CEMS).

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in the field of Byzantine Studies. The initial appointment is for four years and renewable; salary is negotiable and competitive.
