Evolution and Entanglement is the title of the upcoming ACE Flagship Seminar by Ian Hodder (Standford University).

The seminar will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 5.00 p.m., in the Victoria Gallery & Museum.

This is the first ACE Flagship Seminar of 2019, organized by the Department of Archaeology, Classics & Egyptology.

Professor Hodder is Director of the Çatalhöyük Research Project “Building our understanding of one of the world’s first agricultural communities. Having spearheaded critical thinking in our readings of the past, his most recent research discusses how human entanglement with material things draws us down certain evolutionary and historical pathways.

This latest concern is the subject of the present seminar, building on his seminal 2012 monograph “Entangled: An Archaeology of the Relationships between Humans and Things”.

This ACE Flagship Seminar is open to all and aims at friendly cross-disciplinary discussion, in a relaxed setting. The talk will be followed by a drinks reception in the Victoria Gallery and Museum
