Undeciphered Scripts from the Aegean in the II Millennium BC

Doctoral scholarship, fully funded for three years

The Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies, Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, in conjunction with the ERC Consolidator project INSCRIBE (Invention of Scripts and their Beginnings), seeks applications for one doctoral scholarship, fully funded for three years, starting on the 1st  November 2019.

Applications will be considered for research any aspect of the paleography, epigraphy, archaeology and philology of the ancient undeciphered scripts of the Aegean Bronze age dating to the II millennium BC (Cretan Hieroglyphics, Linear A, Cypro-Minoan).

The post will be based in Bologna. The deadline is on the 15th May 2019.
