The Hellenic Institute of Egyptology is delighted to present a series of
online lectures, at a symbolic price (only 80 €, for a package of 7 lectures of
2 hours each, to cover basic costs), in order to promote its work and be able to offer to colleagues and students, from all over the world, the possibility of online lecturing/lessons during this difficult pandemic period. The lectures will be given in English and will spot on very interesting topics as well as on Egyptian Collections in Hellenic Museums and Egyptology in Hellas. After the great success of our Online Seminars, that started last April due to the c–v pandemic, we are encouraging students and colleagues to join, in order to enjoy some panoramic lectures, presented by Prof. Dr Dr Alicia Maravelia and other distinguished colleagues (Em. Prof. Dr Mona Haggag and Mrs Sophia Tsourinaki).

The Lectures’ Agenda will be the following:

1. Egyptian Collections in Hellenic Museums: National Archaeological
Museum of Athens, Benaki Museum and Samos Museum (by Alicia Maravelia): Monday 28th September, 18:00-20:00.
2. The Mummy Project of the Hellenic Institute of Egyptology, the National
Archaeological Museum  and the Athens Medical Centre (by Alicia Maravelia): Monday 5th October, 18:00-20:00.
3. Astronomy, Orientations and Cosmography in Ancient Egypt (by Alicia
Maravelia): Monday 12th October, 18:00-20:00.
4. Water in the Macrocosmic Architecture of the Universe, according to
the Ancient Egyptian Metaphysical Forma Mentis (by Alicia Maravelia):
Monday 19th October, 18:00-20:00.
5. The Cult of the Nile and the Element of Water as a Source of Inspiration
on Late Antique Textiles (by Sofia Tsourinaki): Monday 26th October, 18:00-20:00.
6. Egypt and Hellas through the Millennia: Historical and Archaeological
Comparisons (by Mona Haggag): Monday 2nd November, 18:00-20:00.
7. The Kyphi/K3pt of the Ancient Egyptians and the Orthodox Holy Chrism
(by Alicia Maravelia): Monday 9th November, 18:00-20:00.

There will be one lecture per week, of 2 hours each, on the previous topics,
starting on Monday 28th September 2020 (and every Monday, for 7 weeks).
The time will be 18:00-20:00 Greek Time = GMT + 2 h (Greece follows
the Summer Time until the last Sunday of October). Participations are meant for the whole cycle; as the price is very low, if somebody wants to
attend only one/some lecture(s) s/he must pay for the whole set. More details will be given personally.
