The Institute of Classical Philology of the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies at the TU Dresden seeks, together with Prof. Douglas L. Cairns (Edinburgh) and in conjunction with the award of an Anneliese Maier Research Prize by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, applications for a six-month postdoctoral research fellowship, tenable at the University of Edinburgh, for the year 2022, preferably for the period from 1 March to 31 August or 1 April to 30 September 2022.
The fellowship (€ 2,500/month) is aimed primarily at researchers in the field of the emotional, conceptual and intellectual history of antiquity, especially those interested in pursuing an independent research project in association with the Edinburgh project on Honour in Classical Greece (ERC Advanced Grant 741084), led by Prof. Cairns.
In particular, we should like to encourage early career researchers from Germany, not least to promote the internationalisation of German classical scholarship, as envisaged under the terms of the award of the Anneliese Maier Prize.
For further information please contact Prof. Dennis Pausch (Email: [email protected]).
Applications from women are particularly welcome. The same applies to people with disabilities.
Please send applications – in German or English – with CV, research profile, and a project outline by 29 October 2021 (preferably via the TU Dresden SecureMail Portal https://securemail.tu-dresden.de) as a single pdf document to [email protected] or by post to TU Dresden, Fakultät Sprach-, Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften, Institut für Klassische Philologie, Professur für Klassische Philologie/Latein, Herr Prof. Pausch, Helmholtzstr. 10, 01069 Dresden (stamped arrival date of the university central mail service applies).
