The International Xenophon Society (IXS) welcomes submissions for its next triennial conference, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 7-9 November 2024. As was the case for earlier Xenophon conferences hosted by Christopher Tuplin and colleagues at the University of Liverpool (1999, 2009) and online (2021), papers will be pre-circulated, with only brief summaries delivered at the conference itself, the better to facilitate discussion. Welcome are submissions on any topic relevant to Xenophon, as the aim of the conference is to reflect the wide diversity of his output, but of particular interest are papers on the topic of Rhetoric, Performance and Performativity.
Deadlines
The deadline for receipt of abstracts (c. 500 words) is 1 May 2024.
The deadline for receipt of papers (c. 5,000 words) is 15 September 2024.
Conference fee
Conference fee: $150 (with waivers possible for those with financial need).
Abstracts (and any questions) should be sent to [email protected] in any of the IXS languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian or German.
A volume of selected papers from the conference is planned. The IXS General Assembly Meeting will take place in the conference, and include elections for the executive committee and president.
