Applications are now open for a new host institution for the 2016 Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient Literature.
The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient Literature (AMPAL) is one of the largest postgraduate conferences in ancient literature in the UK. It attracts international speakers from all around the globe, and provides an opportunity for the worldwide postgraduate community to interact and share research. Although it is a perfect medium for PhD students in later stages of their research to receive constructive feedback, it is also an ideal first conference, as it enables students to present their work in a friendly environment, develop presentation skills and encourage professional development.In the past, papers have been published both as special issues of journals, and as collected volumes in book format.
The AMPAL committee is looking to hand over the conference to a new host institution for 2016. The conference has, in the past, been hosted by a variety of institutions across the UK. To opportunity will present postgraduates with valuable experience in organising a large scale conference, and a chance to celebrate both internal and external postgraduate study in ancient literature.
To apply to host, please send a short outline of no more than 250 words detailing the institution and its reasons for wanting to host AMPAL, and a proposed theme (this need not be detailed), by no later than Monday 1st June.
