The Ministry of Culture about the seized Greek antiquities in NYC

In close collaboration with the American authorities

The Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports is awaiting the official data of the American authorities in order to proceed to the appropriate actions for the repatriation of the Greek antiquities, after the artefacts’ illicit trafficking will have been documented, according to an announcement the Ministry issued after recent media releases about the seizure of Greek and Italian antiquities by the competent authorities in New York.

As noted in the announcement, the American authorities and the competent departments of the Cultural Ministry have been working in close collaboration already since last month, exchanging all necessary information for the identification of an ancient object (the Attic white lekythos), which is among the seized artefacts.
