University of Alcalá Expedition to Deir el-Bahari (Luxor)

Starting March 31st

The University of Alcalá continues with the archaeological, epigraphic, and restoration works previously developed under the auspices of Freie Universität Berlin. This season the expedition will continue in the northern hills of Deir el-Bahari with the excavation and examination of the courtyards of the treasurer Henenu (TT 313) and the vizier Ipi (TT 315), as well as with the cleaning of the sarcophagus chamber of the vizier and the study
of the stepped upper courtyard in the complex of Henenu. In addition, the team will also continue with the epigraphic work in the chapel of Harhotep (CG 28023) in Cairo Museum. The expedition will start on March 31st and continue until the end of April.

The excavations are part of the Middle Kingdom Theban Project.
